Have a Blast at this Spring Hill Playground Extravaganza!
Port Royal Park is situated on 30 acres, it is very new and offers a lot! The playground was our main stop on a very cold day in February (we were the only ones at the park!), but we can’t wait to go back to experience the splash pad too during the warmer months. The playground is bright and colorful and is contained with a fence. for added safety. It has artificial turf and though it doesn’t have a lot of natural shade, there are some tarps that shade several picnic tables. It’s mostly geared towards older kids (5+) with really large/high slides and more advanced climbing features but there are a few sections appropriate for younger ones. There are also several swings and a merry-go-round.
Beyond the playground, there’s a concessions/restrooms building (restrooms were VERY clean!), three football and soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts, a 3,000-foot walking/multi-use path, amphitheater seating for special events, three picnic pavilions, sidewalks throughout, amphitheater seating for movie nights, a nearly 400-space parking lot, and plenty of benches and umbrella-covered seating.
The walking track around the park is paved smoothly and is good for scooters, wheelchairs and strollers. Adjacent to the park, there's a firehouse that would be a fun bonus adventure for younger ones that like fire trucks.
This makes for a really good halfway stop on the way from Nashville to Stillhouse Hollow Falls.
