The Forest Hills Park and Playground is a Small Park with Everything You Could Need

The Forest Hills playground located in the residential Forest Hills neighborhood of DC is small, but it has two fenced-in play areas for different age groups. There are a few slides and swings, a spinner, a sandbox (which didn't have any sand when we visited in the winter), and a marked path circling the equipment for a scooter or small bike. There are picnic tables, a nice green space for playing, along with shady areas.

This playground isn't crowded and there are baby swings for the little ones so it would easily keep little ones entertained for an hour or two. In addition to the playground, there are tennis courts, a baseball field, and a basketball half-court. There really is something for everyone at this small neighborhood park.

There are no restroom facilities at this playground. It is less than a ten-minute walk from the Van Ness-UDC stop on the Red Line, and a short walk from Bread Furst, hiking on the Soapstone Valley Trail, and Rock Creek Park, as well as a short drive to Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens.
