Fulton playground is a small playground in the Outer Richmond neighborhood of San Francisco.

It is located right outside of Golden Gate Park near Spreckles Lake and is another example of a pretty awesome, fairly newly renovated park. Some of the main attractions are the large slide that comes off of the older kids playset and a massive climbing ropes spider web that connects the two play structures. There are seesaws, riding toys, monkey bars, slides and more! The cute little tot area has a smaller clubhouse style play area complete with a steering wheel, music tubes, and cars for imaginative play. Both younger and older kids have swing options and climbing areas. The fence along the perimeter and rubber bottom makes it a bit safer for all the kiddos.

There are tables and chairs for snacks and short breaks, along with bathrooms onsite (yay!).  With a tennis court and one and a half basketball courts, there is a little something to entertain everyone.  If your little one is just learning to ride a bike or loves scootering, there is a nice smooth paved area where they can practice. The clubhouse is available for rent for parties and would be a great place for birthdays. They also host a variety of programs and classes for all ages here.

Unfortunately there is not a parking lot, but street parking is available. Typically it’s not too big of an issue, but it might be a good idea to pack a stroller in case you have to walk a few blocks.

Emily Coleman
Emily Coleman is a Jersey girl born and raised who caught the outdoor bug upon moving to Vermont to pursue a degree in Adventure Education and Environmental Studies from Green Mountain College. She spent most of her years before college deeply entrenched in the world of competitive cheerleading before discovering a passion for outdoor sports including mountain biking, white water kayaking, bikepacking, backpacking, slacklining, rock climbing, and skiing. Having been surrounded by children her entire life in her mother's daycare, she always had a strong affinity for kids. She moved to the mountains of Jackson Hole after graduating to coach for the local Kayak Club during the summers and nanny in the winters. Becoming a part of the Happy Active Family team felt like the perfect collision of her passion for building strong community bonds and encouraging an outdoor lifestyle.
