Gateway Mall Fountains/Splash Pad

Natalie and I headed to the Gateway in search of the Children’s Museum on a Sunday afternoon without really having much insight as to what it was.  What we noticed upon finding a parking spot was the artistic vibe that the entire Gateway area seemed to exude. There was creative architecture, murals on the walls, and cute storefronts that we were tempted to explore.  Unfortunately a lot of places were closed (maybe because it was Sunday?), but we did see the splash pad in action. Right in the center of the entire outdoor mall space, was a cute little fountain area where kids were running around and cooling off.  Mostly it just looked like jets shooting water out of the ground, but nonetheless, a perfect way to let the kids run around after shopping or lunch. It’s also right next to the really cool Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shop. Swing by post play for some snacks and sit at the picnic benches to enjoy your treats!

Emily Coleman
Emily Coleman is a Jersey girl born and raised who caught the outdoor bug upon moving to Vermont to pursue a degree in Adventure Education and Environmental Studies from Green Mountain College. She spent most of her years before college deeply entrenched in the world of competitive cheerleading before discovering a passion for outdoor sports including mountain biking, white water kayaking, bikepacking, backpacking, slacklining, rock climbing, and skiing. Having been surrounded by children her entire life in her mother's daycare, she always had a strong affinity for kids. She moved to the mountains of Jackson Hole after graduating to coach for the local Kayak Club during the summers and nanny in the winters. Becoming a part of the Happy Active Family team felt like the perfect collision of her passion for building strong community bonds and encouraging an outdoor lifestyle.
