Fabulous pizza in adorable downtown Ravenna!

Downtown Ravenna is small-town Americana at its best, and Guido’s Pizza is the perfect local pizza spot to visit when you pass through or if you’re camping at nearby West Branch State Park.

They have been owned and operated by the same family and providing excellent Italian food to locals and visitors since 1966 making them a staple of the community.  During our visit, our fellow patrons all had the look of local families out for their weekly family dining out night.  In addition to inside and outside dining options, Guido’s also provides carry out and delivery, as well as catering.  Guido’s menu includes all the popular pizza parlor fare you know and love like appetizers, soup, salads and sandwiches as well as delicious fried chicken.  And the pizza... well it’s amazing.  The crust is soft but firm, the cheese piled on high and the toppings are obviously fresh and of the highest quality.  I highly recommend getting more than you think you can eat because you’ll be craving leftovers the day after if not sooner.

If you can try to save room for a cannoli or some cheesecake for dessert.  Soft drinks are available, but alcohol is not.  Both the interior and exterior are wheelchair and stroller-friendly.  The restaurant also provides crayons and coloring pages for the kids. The bathrooms were small but clean and well maintained.

If you aren’t able to be seated right away or if you need to stretch your legs after your meal, then the main street area of Ravenna is certainly the place to do it.  It’s full of shops and local businesses sure offer something for everyone in your group. If you want to make an evening of it, we suggest dessert at the Carriage House Creamery and a movie at the Midway Drive-In!

Katie is a Maryland native and has lived in the state her whole life. She moved to Baltimore in 2007 after graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She has been working in the field of early childhood education as a teacher and family coach for the past 12 years. Katie also holds a Masters of Education in Literacy from Loyola University. She is passionate about giving kids and families the knowledge and tools that they need to thrive. Matt grew up in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore. As a city native, Matt is a great resource on all that the city has to offer. After months of helping Katie explore the city for her role at a Happy Active Family, he decided to put his love of writing to use and officially come on board as an ambassador.
