Come see how Hammond’s Candies are handmade every day.

A Denver treasure, Hammond’s Candies, offers free tours every half hour during factory business hours. Your family will love seeing candy canes, lollipops, marshmallow treats, and more handmade in front of their eyes!

The tour starts with a short movie sharing the history of this 100-year-old local company. Seeing how Hammond’s has adapted over the years is interesting, but probably more interesting is how they have not! Committed to a level of quality that requires handcrafting these tasty treats, much of the equipment is decades old and little is automated.

After the movie, you are directed into the factory where you can watch the candy-making through large windows. A tour guide explains what is going on while showing close-up views of the various stations on a screen above. Each tour is different because only a subset of candy types are made each day. This is a tour you can do many times and I highly recommend going during the holiday candy cane season!

At the conclusion of the tour, each guest is given a free “oops” candy cane to take home and you are guided into the candy shop. This is where it gets dangerous for us sweet tooths! There are so many delicious treats to choose from (candy canes, chocolate bars, truffles, gummies, marshmallows), you likely won’t be able to leave without picking something.

After the sugar rush, we recommend making a stop at a local playground! Nearby recommendations are Twin Lakes Park (5 minutes to the northwest) and Swansea Park (10 min to the southeast).
