Enjoy the incredible experience of exploring the preserve while making it your home for a few days!
If you’re looking for a camping experience in the Mojave National Preserve perfect for the whole family, consider Hole in the Wall Campground. Thirty-five campsites are spread out on the open desert plain, and they are rich with a character akin to the true desert experience so this location is where you’ll want to be. Mountain views in the distance and desert flora and fauna consume the landscape and several trails border the area. There is a pit toilet, potable water, and a dumping area for RV’s, but no RV hookups, so proper preparation is crucial.
It is 35 minutes away from the swath of Joshua trees in Cima, an hour away from the Kelso Dunes, and an hour and 15 minutes away from the Lava Tubes.
Notes: Facilities: Pit toilets, trash receptacles, fire rings, picnic tables; no utility hookups. Firewood is not available in the park. No reservations, first come first serve.
