Huck's is a family-friendly dining experience with great charm.

Huck’s American Craft calls itself a bistro.  It’s also in a neighborhood of East Baltimore that calls itself Brewer’s Hill.  I actually grew up on the same block as the spot now known as Huck’s and back then it was Highlandtown (maybe Canton but that’s a subject for debate).  Either way, you’ll want to check this place out today as it’s just about the quaintest and most charming place you could hope for if you’re looking to find delicious food, great drinks, and a family-friendly neighborhood atmosphere.

They specialize in upscale comfort food so expect to find some chicken and waffles (!), pretzel dough pizza (!!) and a Minnesota Juicy Lucy burger stuffed with Muenster cheese (!!!). They also offer a "Little Huckleberry Menu" for the kids.

Huck’s works just as well as a place to visit for happy hour or an evening out with 20 beer taps and over 40 bottles and cans of beer to choose from.  They also feature a rotating wine selection served by the glass or by the bottle.

The space is intimate so it's best to try and visit during a time that may not be too popular such as mid-afternoon or for an early dinner.  There are some TVs mounted on the walls so during sporting events may not be your best bet for a visit if you aren’t in the mood for dining or drinking closely with some new friends.

Huck’s isn’t far from other popular family-friendly areas like Canton Waterfront Park, Patterson Park, Fells Point and the Inner Harbor so if what you’re looking for is something cozy, casual and off the beaten path, then this could be right up your alley.

Our work in Baltimore is truly a family affair. Husband and wife, Matt and Katie, work together to head up our ambassador team in Charm City. Katie is a Maryland native and has lived in the state her whole life. She moved to Baltimore in 2007 after graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She has been working in the field of early childhood education as a teacher and family coach for the past 12 years. Katie also holds a Masters of Education in Literacy from Loyola University. She is passionate about giving kids and families the knowledge and tools that they need to thrive. Matt grew up in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore. As a city native, Matt is a great resource on all that the city has to offer. After months of helping Katie explore the city for her role at a Happy Active Family, he decided to put his love of writing to use and officially come on board as an ambassador. Matt and Katie have two girls, ages 5 and 7. They spend their weekends camping, hiking, or exploring other hidden gems in their area. Tap into their insider knowledge by downloading the app today!
