Get used books, great coffee, and give back to your community all in one location.

Located in the Cotswold area of Charlotte, Julia’s Cafe and Books is a coffee shop and used book store that benefits Habitat for Humanity. Through the sale of local, organic coffee and food options and used books, Julia’s Cafe and Books plays a vital role for the community of Charlotte. The Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte Region’s mission is to build affordable homes, communities, and hope in the area. The store was named after Julia Maulden, one of Charlotte’s pioneering public servants. Julia was instrumental in the founding of Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte and worked on the first Habitat home in Charlotte.

In the cafe portion of the store, they handcraft good organic coffee from Magnolia Coffee Company. Magnolia Coffee Company buys Direct Trades coffee from small farms at the point of origin to ensure sustainable pricing for the coffee producers, which helps improve the lives of the coffee harvesters and their families. Sourcing directly ensures consistent high-quality coffee and taste profiles. The quality is amazing, and the beans are roasted right here in Charlotte. This ensures freshness in every cup. You can buy bags of their coffee right in the store as well.  At Julia’s Cafe, you can choose from simple, fresh-brewed coffee, barista-crafted espresso drinks, Nitro cold brew, iced coffee, assorted teas, smoothies, frappes, hot chocolate, and fountain drinks. The cafe also serves breakfast and lunch items such as egg sandwiches, breakfast burritos, gluten-free muffins, fruit salad, salad, soups, and sandwiches. Craving something sweet? They also have desserts like baklava, cookies, cream cheese brownies, candy bars, greek coffee cookies, and popcorn. Want to bring great coffee and goodies to the office to share? Julia’s Cafe offers catering services.

The small book section of the store will have you browsing books from fiction, art, cooking, gardening, parenting, history, hobbies, and religion to some rare and unique selections. Pricing on books is cheap, and this is a great place to pick up children's books. Do you have books to donate? You can bring them in Julia’s Cafe and Books, or drop them off at any Charlotte Region ReStore. They even will help you set up a book drive in your area. The bookstore accepts any books in good condition but not encyclopedias or magazines. Julia’s Cafe and Books also accepts all types of media including VHS, DVDs, vinyl records, video games, and more. So clear off those shelves and help support the store and Habitat for Humanity.

With great coffee, cheap books, and giving back to the community, you can't go wrong at Julia’s Cafe and Books. You can follow them on Instagram @juliascafeandbooks and on Facebook.
