Your family will love exploring June Farms through their daily walks!
June Farms has 120 acres to explore every day during their “daily walks” from June through Labor Day from 11 am to 4 pm. Upon arrival at the farm, park in the designated parking lot and find the snack bar. The snack bar is where you can purchase your tickets. (They are $5 per person and that includes children of all ages) Here, they also sell food for patrons as well as the animals. I absolutely recommend buying the food they sell to feed the animals. It honestly made the experience more interactive for us as the animals were more engaging and the kids had a lot of fun feeding them.
What will I see there?
While roaming the farm you will find goats, free-range chickens, ducks, huge pigs, horses, cattle, bees that make honey, and beautiful, lush scenery throughout. The chickens and goats were the most "people-friendly" and couldn't get enough of the food that we had to give them. They were not afraid of us at all.
Expect to do a lot of walking. When my family and I went, we walked nearly two miles and the kids were really tired by the end. If your kids are still stroller age, bring it! Although, if your family has any mobility issues or concerns they do have golf carts for customer use. The farm’s daily walks are rain or shine so bring an umbrella if there is a chance of rain.
When you purchase your tickets at the snack bar, they will give you a map and a scavenger hunt which is really fun for school-aged children and adults alike.
What’s there to eat?
They have a snack bar open from 11-4 located right next to the parking lot. There are lots of goodies for kids including the kid classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich and more sophisticated items for adults like their prosciutto di parma sandwich. The younger kids preferred hot dogs though because their jelly was very thick. On a hot day, they also have snow cones and popsicles and my personal favorite blueberry lemonade! Check out the menu here. You can enjoy your food inside the pony barn or take it anywhere on the farm to have your own picnic. They have a gorgeous area to eat a short walk away from the snack bar with white tables called the “Fern Gully” down by the creek.
