For year-round fun, Kerber Park is a great option to keep your family active!

Kerber Park is a great suburban park for families. Located in the northwest metro, it's close to many options for restaurants and other entertainment. Warm weather fun here includes the option for baseball, softball, and basketball, and the cold months bring the classic Minnesota activity of ice skating.  This park includes 2 baseball fields, 2 softball fields, a basketball court, and 2 tennis courts. With two outdoor skating rinks, plus a small frozen pond, there are plenty of options to get your kiddo on some skates. The plentiful outdoor ice skating options here definitely set this park apart in offering special wintertime fun. It's actually the very first park we've been to this season that offers either an outdoor rink or a frozen pond for skating.

The playground equipment is on the larger side, so it offered plenty of entertainment to easily keep our kiddos happy for more than a few hours. There were several swings (yes, this is important, as many parks only have one or two, often causing the kids to bicker more over the swings). It also featured several slides, monkey bars, several different climbing apparatuses, a wobbly bridge, and a tunnel. This playground also features restrooms, which is a big plus for young kids. I had no idea this was such a big ice skating park, so I hadn't brought our skates. However, the girls faces positively lit up when they saw kids skating and playing hockey on the pond, so we did slide around a bit in our winter boots. They thought it was totally magical!
