Kerber Pond Park is a great little nature area to explore with your family.

If you're looking for a big, busy playground, or any playground at all, this is not the park for you. I'll admit, my kids get a bit hooked on the adrenaline rush of playground play, and I sometimes have to remind them that just getting out in nature is enough. I don't want them to only want to play at playgrounds. And Kerber Pond Park is a great example of a nicely sized park for getting out in nature, without the hustle and bustle of a playground.

I like the overall location of this park, as it's tucked away on a side street in a nice suburb, but yet it's still close to pizza places, coffee shops, and shopping. It's also close to several other parks, as well as local lakes. So, you could potentially head from here to the beach in the warmer months, if you choose.

As its name suggests, this park encompasses a small pond and also features a walking trail through the 27 acres of wooded parkland. The trail is really nice, and I was surprised by the size of this tucked-away park. In wintertime, there's also a nice sledding hill here, which is something you can't find at every park.

Parking was a small downside to this park, as I only saw residential street parking, but that being said, it still went very smoothly finding parking and we were very close to the park.

After enjoying some nature time here at Kerber Pond Park, head over to Cafe Thyme for some delicious eats!
