The best yoga in DC. 

Yoga is a valuable and enduring tool for stretching, reflection, and stress relief, and lifestyle connection. While the approach to family yoga can be very different from one studio to the next, these spaces have proven to be welcoming when it comes to the desire to make our relationship with yoga a family affair.

This family of studios is formerly known as Tranquil Space, and there are studios in Fairfax, Arlington, Dupont Circle and Bethesda. The programs for little ones include Baby and Me for pre-crawlers (Dupont and Arlington), Tots and Tykes for crawlers through age 4 (Dupont) and Kids Yoga for grades 1-4 (Fairfax). Generally, a free week of unlimited yoga is offered to new students. Membership and unlimited classes run for $119/month for one studio, $129/month for access to the 6 DC-area studios, and $149/month for the 60+ studios around the country. There are also class packages ($199 for 10), or individual session prices ($25/class).
This studio, located at 3838 Northampton St NW, is very family-friendly. There are mommy and me sessions currently scheduled for 1:30 pm on Tuesdays, as well as classes designed for ages 2-4 with an adult, 5-8-year-old children, 5+ family sessions, kids ages 6-12 (with a focus on special needs), ages 8-12, 12-18 and another session for ages 14-18 geared toward mindfulness and stress management. Winter session registration begins on December 9th, and the 12-week sessions range in price based on how many you register for, but it is $228 for the session or $19 per class. There are also pricing options for mini-series (ranging from 4-10 weeks) and registration for all family-style classes include one child and one adult. This location also features a summer camp and hosts birthday parties.
This studio includes two locations, one in Fairfax and another in Arlington. Weekly registration for a 14-week course will be $252, 10 class Flex Pass for $199, 6 for $132, $25 for a drop-in class, and $149/month for an unlimited Bliss Pass. The relevant family and kid-friendly classes offered are Baby Yogi, Family Yoga Fun, Yoga for Kids, Yoga for Tweens, Yoga for Teens, Yoga for Teen Boys, Yoga for You and The Baby, Yoga for You and the Tots, and Yoga for You and the Kids. Some of these classes are weekly and others are scheduled as special sessions.

Simon Says Yoga:

In Bethesda, this studio hosts Family Yoga Sundays monthly, with a class for families with 3-6-year-olds, and one immediately following for families of 6-11-year-olds. Each Sunday class is $30 for two participants, $40 for three and $5 for each additional family member. On Thursdays at 4:15 pm, Simon Says also hosts a 6-week session for 8-11-year-old kids ($99/session or $20 drop-in). Mindful Yoga birthday party packages are available for children and/or adults. The studio is located at 4611 Sangamore Road.
Mommy and Me yoga classes run on Mondays (11 am) and Fridays (11:15 am), and Mommy and Me Pilates sessions are scheduled for Tuesdays (11 am) and Thursdays (11:15) at their Alexandria studio, located at 2214 Mount Vernon Avenue in Del Ray. Free parking is available in designated spots with passes available in the studio, but be mindful as towing is enforced. They are offering 4 classes for $40 for new clients, and the monthly membership fee is $99. Drop-ins are $22/class.
This mobile family yoga concept is based on Capitol Hill and classes are held at different locations including The Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital. Breathing Space offers Baby Yoga and Play (pre-crawlers), Tot Yoga (crawling - 24 months), Toddler Family Yoga (walking - 3 years), Little Families Yoga (21 months - 4 years), Family Yoga (school-aged children) and Yoga for Kids and Teens. There are also Day Camps during school days off and summer. One session is $20, 6-week sessions are $108 and 12 weeks run for $216. The winter session starts the first week in January, but all registration is prorated if you want to jump in on the fall schedule.
Located at 1321 B Rockville Pike this Rockville, Maryland studio offers Postnatal Yoga with Baby on Sundays from 4-5:15 pm, and the drop in price is $20. They are also currently running a $49 30-day unlimited new student special, and their full membership is $123/month, $1008/year or $59/month for students. There are also a range of class passes, including $175 for 10 sessions.
The Tacoma Park studio hosts Family Yoga on the last Saturday of every month for $25 per family. The Georgia Avenue location also hosts a Baby and Me session at 10:15 am on Tuesdays. Child care is also provided at certain times for $10.50/hour. One session is $21, a 15-class pack with no expiration is $280, and currently first month unlimited is available for $39, renewing for $99/month.
