The perfect mixture of a play area and a children’s museum!
If you’re looking for a place to play indoors while getting extra value, you have to check out KidSpace in Westminster. Your future scientists and astronauts will absolutely love this place and you will love that while playing, they will be learning! A museum without the breakables, a playground with a purpose…whatever way you look at it, KidSpace is a fantastic spot to visit.
There is a special area made specifically for the crawling/toddler ages with a rocket ship to climb through and many sensory events. The majority of activities will be most enjoyed by ages 4 to 8, possibly up to age 12. The play area was unique with its space-themed look, squishy stairs and wide slide.
You will find multiple areas to enjoy, some exhibits will come and go making it different with each visit. A main goal of KidSpace is “STEM learning through active play” and you won’t find anything in the play area that doesn’t also teach you something. Whether it is learning about rocket trajectories, a view of the sky in the planetarium, or seeing pictures of the different planets, everyone will come out learning something.
My daughter’s favorite part of KidSpace was the Ballistics Zone. She calls it the “ball place” and loved watching the foam balls fly up and out of the ball fountain.
Things to Know: KidSpace is not somewhere you just run in for a bit, this is a place you should plan to stay for a while. There is so much to do and see! Make sure to note the planetarium show times to make sure you don’t miss them.
Looking for more to do in the area? Definitely make a stop at Westminster Center Park, better known as the “Peter Pan Park”. With its London theme and crocodile-guarded ship, you will be instantly taken on a trip to Neverland.
