This memorable literary spot in DC's Dupont is surprisingly kid-friendly.

Kramerbooks & Afterwords Cafe is an amazing, independent bookstore (Kramer's) with a kid-friendly restaurant (Afterwords Cafe) attached to it.  You can go in and buy a children's book from their expansive selection and then head over to the restaurant.  It's especially great for brunch and lunch!  Afterwords offer American fare with plenty of kid-pleasing items on the menu.  They also have a spectacular dessert selection of cakes and pies, so save room!

Every Wednesday and Sunday morning at 10:30 am, Kramer's hosts a storytime, where the staff will feature a children's book and various fun activities for the kids.  They'll even watch your kids while you grab a coffee from the cafe!

Mitchell Park is just a half-mile away, so grab a book and some coffee before hitting the playground with your little ones.

The closest metro is only 5 minutes away at Dupont Circle Station.
