La Jolla Playground is a well-located spot for a picnic and some playtime.

Just a few blocks from a few of the biggest highlights in San Diego, the La Jolla Children's Pool & The Cove, this playground is perfectly set within walking distance to all of downtown La Jolla. With slides, swings and climbing areas, this playground is also part of a Recreation Center so it offers basketball courts, tennis courts and a baseball field. There is no parking lot here, only street parking that runs along 3 sides of the park. Most of the direct street parking is metered but if you don't mind walking 1-2 blocks you can find free street parking towards the beach in the residential neighborhoods.

Don't miss checking out the Children's pool just a short walk away. Enjoy a stroll afterward along the beautiful cliffside boardwalk that wraps around downtown La Jolla's coast and ends at the famous La Jolla Cove, known for its snorkeling. You have a lot of great food choices in this area, local favorites are The Cottage, Nine-Ten, Jose's, Georges, Puesto, Karl Strauss, Burger Lounge and Brokton Villa.
