Lebanese Taverna is a Westover favorite, featuring delicious Lebanese food.
Lebanese Taverna was founded in Arlington’s Westover neighborhood in 1979 and has become a beloved local institution. Featuring classic Eastern Mediterranean cooking, Lebanese Taverna has something healthy and fresh for everyone.
The restaurant features indoor and outdoor dining, plus outdoor patio heaters for outdoor dining during the COVID-era and hopefully beyond! To start, the Hommus, Lentil Soup, and Arnabeet are delicious and certainly crowd-pleasers even for most picky eaters. If you’re looking for something a little more filling, try the Mujaddara or Fettah. Don't forget to order the authentic baklava (with a scoop of vanilla ice cream) for dessert, I assure you, you will not regret it. Lebanese Taverna also features a nice selection of Lebanese wines and beers, in addition to USA-made wines and beers.
The restaurant is very kid-friendly, and the staff is always eager to please and accommodate requests. My kids have grown up going to Lebanese Taverna and it very much feels like family when we walk through the doors. Prices range from $8-$30, so there's something for everyone. Whether you want to stop in for a quick appetizer of tzatziki and warm pita ($9) or a celebrate a special occasion with Whole Bronzino ($35), everyone will leave feeling full and satisfied regardless of their particular cravings.
Lebanese Taverna is across the street from Westover Library and is a great place to stop and spend some time reading with your kids. If you'd rather explore and climb, Lacey Woods Park is 1 mile from Lebanese Taverna. If you need a food break and choose to forgo the baklava, after you take a walk, play or book break stop by Toby's Ice Cream for locally made scoops of ice cream or milkshakes to round out your evening.
The closest metro stations are Ballston and East Falls Church (in opposite directions).
