Lewis G Larus Park North entrance offers a quiet place to wander.
Larus park offers two different entrance points. To get to the north entrance, you drive through a neighborhood and there is limited street parking. The trail is easy to spot to the right of the Lewis G Larus Park sign. The north side entrance also leads to narrow paths. Parts of this trail are shaded while other parts you can see straight up to the sky. The is a nice short boardwalk to walk on which leads to a bridge leading to a tunnel! This was exciting for everyone when we saw the tunnel. The underground tunnel is fun to explore but beware, it can be wet and your shoes will get a little damp and muddy when you walk through. It’s worth the exploration and the echo inside is great! We had fun yelling and listening to our echoes.
The north side tends to be a bit muddier than the south side after a big rainstorm. There are no bathrooms or amenities at the north entrance of Larus Park but this is a popular entrance for people to park at and catch the trailhead. Street parking is available.
