A park with broad appeal, including a playground for the kiddos!
Liberty Lands is a unique communal two-acre park on reclaimed land located in Northern Liberties. Not a city park but created and funded by the neighborhood, it includes a community garden, a playground, picnic tables and a small community stage. Bring a book and kick back and relax or take your leashed pups for some fresh air.
There is a locked restroom building, but if you want to use it, you need to be a member (50 dollars a year) of the "potty club."
Dogs are allowed. The park hosts yoga sessions and an outdoor movie series in the summertime, as well as other community events
There are a number of good places to eat in the neighborhood, including Honeys Sit and Eat (honeyssitandeat.com). They have some very kid-friendly food items, such as pancakes and grilled cheese if you are with children. Give it a try and enjoy this beautiful oasis in the city.
