Lions Park offers a nice combination of a playground, surrounded by a grassy area.

We really enjoyed Lions Park. The girls seemed too tired to play by the time we got to this park, so I figured they might not play, but they had a blast! They actually popped up from their car seats when I told them we were arriving at the park. They initially scoped it out from their car seats, and they couldn't wait to play here.

There are two big sets of main playground equipment here, one for older kids, and one for littles. This is always helpful for me, as I can lead or encourage the girls to whichever is more suitable for them, depending on what I consider most safe and age-appropriate. This park has a lot of wide-open space around the playground, so be aware that you should bring sunscreen and a hat to protect you from the sun's dangerous rays. I also really recommend bringing along either a baseball mitt and balls, soccer ball, or some other ball game for the park, especially if you've been in the car for an extended time on a road trip. This park offers plenty of space for playing on the grass surrounding the playground. It would also make a really great kite-flying park, as the ground is flat for running and it probably gets fairly windy here at times.

The playground itself has nice, updated equipment, including a set of double slides (always a huge hit with our crew), climbing structures, tunnels to crawl through, and swings. There was also a small teeter-totter, which is another fun bonus. There's also a dog park on the other side of this park, which is great for four-legged owners.

After playing the day away at Lions Park, scoot over to nearby Red Bench Bakery for a sweet treat.
