The Long Island Aquarium is such a great way to entertain children while on the North Fork.  The aquarium has one of the largest all-living coral reef displays in this hemisphere, in addition to the typical aquatic creatures, there are also insects, butterflies, and birds.

The aquarium runs different events such as a pirate snorkel where kids can get in the water and pet the stingrays.  They also have a shark dive, though I have never participated, I have heard great things.

The website is incredibly informative and easy to navigate so I encourage you to check it out before your trip.  You can even buy passes online.  The aquarium does serve food, however, I would eat before or after your trip due to the costly prices.

**If you are planning on going here more than once, I highly recommend buying a yearly membership.  Financially, it is cheaper to buy the membership than to buy passes for two different trips.
