A spot that you won't want to miss at Pisgah in Brevard, North Carolina.

Looking Glass Falls is by far the most popular waterfall in Pisgah National Forest. It is located right beside and is visible from Highway 276. Take US 276 6 miles north out of Brevard and you will see the roadside parking start way before you see the actual falls. On a warm  summer day you need to grab whatever spot you can find and be prepared to walk the sidewalk for a little while. With multiple levels of observation decks built into the mountainside there is a way to view the falls for every age and ability. To reach the base you'll descend 95 steps and then have the option of stepping out onto the rocks (Careful! They are slippery!). It is an extremely popular swimming spot and you are able to swim directly under the falls if you are a strong and brave swimmer. For the younger kiddos there is plenty of tide pools and wading water to play in, but be prepared for some cold water even in the dead of summer!
