Los Bagels is a local Mexican/Jewish Bakery offering multicultural food and drink options.

Los Bagels is a multicultural café with a blend of both Jewish and Mexican tastes and traditions, offering celebratory foods for many different holidays, such as Dia de Los Muertos, Hanukkah, Passover, and Mexican Independence Day. Los Bagels serves an eclectic assortment of pastries, bread, and baked goods. You will find baked bagels, challah, macaroons, and knish, as well as empanadas, handmade chorizo, Pan de Muerto and freshly made guacamole. They harmoniously mix cultural traditions through food.

Walk into Los Bagels and feel the vibrant and colorful atmosphere highlighting artisans and local food purveyors. Los Bagels is a longstanding community gathering place and was founded in 1984. The Arcata location is one of three locations in Humboldt County. You know they're good when there's more than one of them! You can also find them at the Arcata Farmer's Market and in many local grocery stores and cafes.

Located in Humboldt County, a unique and artsy community that supports sustainability, Los Bagels strives to improve the community and environment through their products and practices. They source local items like Larrupin Sauce (a sweet dill mustard), Cypress Grove (local goat cheese),  Mad River Farms (jam), Lost Coast Roast (coffee), Deep Seeded Farms (strawberries), and Fish Brothers (lox). They also partner with other local vendors to reduce their post-consumer waste through diversion. A local small-batch whisky company uses their day-old bagels to craft their spirits. Other food waste is donated to charitable organizations in need or sent to local farms to feed livestock.

Did you know that Los Bagels serves the only solar-powered and organic bagels in the entire world? Their organic bagel options include the usual suspects like plain, poppyseed, sesame seed, and jalapeño cheddar bagels. But, they also make a unique "bagel" that is actually shaped more like a hot dog bun and called a "slug". The slug bagel is an ode to the local banana slugs that populate the local redwood forests. You can also add "slug slime" to top any bagel and it is the equivalent of "Everything But the Bagel" seasoning from the more widely known, Trader Joe's or Costco. But, I wonder if Los Bagels was the original creator. They also offer a couple of gluten-free bagel options, as well a couple of vegan options like hummus or tofu.

They also offer a case full of baked goods that will make your mouth water. My favorites are the corn lime cookies and the "Chango Bar," Bring your own to-go cup for your coffee, tea or espresso beverages and you'll fit right in in Humboldt County. I also really like ordering a Los bagels bagel creation for breakfast and another one to-go to take to the local beach for a lunch picnic later on. I love Los Bagels so much that when I moved away from Arcata, I had them shipped to my house with a bag of their granola. And when we visit the area, I usually stop here twice. Once just isn't enough.
