Loula's has some of the best breakfast food in town, not to mention their famous pies!

If you're heading to Whitefish, you have to head to Loula's. It's a must. I'm serious. This place is open on the early side of the day, so don't wait too late in the day...it's more of a 'visit before skiing' type of place than a 'go ahead and pop in after skiing' type of place. Plus, you don't want to miss their legendary breakfast (nor do you want the tastiest flavors of pie to sell-out."

A few years ago, we had the pleasure of being in Whitefish on "Pi Day" (March 14th) and I just knew we had to celebrate with pie from Loula's, so we did! The girls didn't really care what my silly excuse was, they were just excited to get pie. I cut all the pies into bites and we each got to try every kind of pie. It was totally fun! And, as is our custom, we each voted for our favorite pie flavor.

Loula's offers many different flavors of pie, baked fresh each and every day, though I would argue you MUST try a "hucklebuckleberry" as the girls call it (huckleberry) pie when you stop at Loula's. They offer all sorts of even just huckleberry pie, often combining it with mixed berries, blueberry, peach, or any other tasty fruit you can think of. I'd try a bite of each if I could! I love voting for our favorite kinds.

Loula's is located in the basement level of the building, so don't get confused like I did trying to find it for the first time! When you enter the building, you should immediately go down some stairs. If you don't see stairs immediately, you're in the wrong place. Whitefish is a very small town though, so you can always just ask a stranger where to go if you're lost or confused. Everyone there is so friendly!

After grabbing some deliciousness from Loula's, head over to the River Trail down the street, to enjoy your pie riverside, and let the kids run free.
