Check Out Marion Park in DC's Famous Capitol Hill!

Marion Park is a fully fenced neighborhood park and playground situated in Capitol Hill. It's a pleasant place to take a kid break while touring the Capitol Hill area. The play area which is near 4th street has been renovated lately and children under 6 will have a great time testing their climbing skills and sliding down the twisty slide. Many benches are avilable for relaxing and the green space provides opportunities for tossing balls, blowing bubbles or simply spreading a blanket in the shade and enjoying a picnic.

This park is informally known as "Turtle Park" because of the large cement turtle in the middle of the playground, and is the perfect spot to relax and play in the heart of the city. The park was renovated in 2014, and it is named after Revolutionary War figure Francis Marion. Marion Park has been a part of Washington D.C. from the very beginning, aka 1791. It was open ground in the very first city plans from Piere L'Enfant. This is one of the most popular playgrounds in the Capitol Hill area, so you are likely to make friends and have group play here!

The playground is classic and there are plenty of benches for you to sit and relax while the kiddos are playing. This is a beautiful area nad even a cherry blossom tree in the park!

This park is a great place to stop after visiting the Shakespeare Library or the Library of Congress to get everyones energy out! If you're looking for a yummy meal, Ted's Bulletin has a location just around the corner. Eastern Market is also not far from here and a fun place to visit on Saturday or Sunday during the warmer months for their food and local item vendors.
