Martin Luther King Jr. Park & Playground

Martin Luther King Jr. Park & Playground is the perfect place to spend an afternoon in the city of Winter Park!  

Pulling into the park, follow the signs for the Community Playground where you will find a small parking lot available to park. This playground, fondly known as the wooden castle, is a fortress to discover for all ages.  From climbing the structure to pretending on podiums, or even twirling on the tire swing, the hours here can just fly away!  The park is lined with picnic benches and benches for seating; one side of the gated playground is flanked by a bathroom building, while the other hosts a pavilion.  The pavilion can be used by all if not rented, or easily rented through the City of Winter Park for an event!

The park is only a short drive from iconic Park Avenue, the center of Winter Park known for shopping and dining. This park was designed for all ages needing to fill the day with activities.  Walk around the park's parameters to experience the exercise machines or easily reach the sports field, used for soccer and football.  On the other side of the park you will find the Winter Park Library, a brand new building conveniently located to escape the heat and rain.  

Need a bite to eat?  This park is near so many great dining options just a short drive away, near Central Winter Park and Park Avenue.  We recommend The COOP or Briarpatch for family -riendly early dining.  If you need something for dinner, head towards Orlando Avenue to stop by Shake Shack or Chuy's!  If you're opting for a picnic, there's a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Publix Supermarket within minutes of this park where you can pack a lunch or snacks!
