Indian Restaurant, Masala Story, in Northeast D.C. Caters to Kids!

Walking into Masala Story you can feel the warmth of the welcome as well as the warmth of the food. I am a big fan of those that appreciate the magic of children! They have a large menu posted on the blackboard with a variety of dishes from vegan to goat. (There is also a bar to service the thirsty parent!) Masala Story has authentic Indian food that is delicious and affordable. The portion sizes are large and the atmosphere is very friendly and approachable. It feels like a happy neighborhood spot!

If I may offer a great introductory menu for the child new to Indian cuisine: I would suggest butter chicken, rice, bread, and a cold mango lassi.  There is a special table for children with a wide variety of books situated next to the serve-yourself cold water, a favorite for our kiddos! Servings are ample and we almost always have leftovers. There are options for any palate, including vegan and vegetarian. Dogs are allowed and they also have happy hour specials!

The restaurant is just minutes from the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land, a beautiful place to wander with little ones or if you're looking for a playground, Noyes Recreation Center Playground is only a couple minutes walk in the other direction.

If you would rather eat at home, you can order food to be delivered or picked up from Doordash, Uber Heads, Grub Hub, Postmates, or Seamless.

Street parking and validated parking is available as well as pike parking.
