No Nantucket vacation is complete without a jaunt out to Millie's in Madaket.

From the shores of New England to the sun-drenched beaches of Baja California, Millie’s menu features coastal fare and cocktails, including the island-famous Madaket Mystery. The queso, salsa, and guacamole combo is an essential starter, and it is too difficult to even suggest a few favorite menu items. The starters are perfectly crafted and come out so quickly, and from the Eel Point ahi tuna tacos to the best Lobster Roll I've had, you can't go wrong. Even the salads are incredibly interesting and the quesadillas are unrivaled anywhere. The kids' meals are well-balanced with rice and mandarin oranges in addition to the main and there is something for every picky eater, EXCEPT fried food - Millie's does not even have a fryer, so you can be safe knowing your kids won't be having french fries absolutely every meal during your visit.

The restaurant has a great outdoor space with plenty of picnic tables, a general store, and plenty of parking and is the perfect destination for either a family night out or an adult getaway, with a fantastic upstairs bar that is 21 and over.

Beautiful Madaket Beach is a short walk from the restaurant, so grab ice cream cones at the market after dinner and walk down for the breathtaking sunset over the water on the island's west end. If you don't feel like driving so you can enjoy a few of amazing Millie's Margarita's grab a Wave from town, it stops right in front of the restaurant. To make it a full adventure, ride your bikes out, and put them on the WAVE's bike rack for a safe ride home.
