When anyone speaks of the quaint mountain town of Julian they are also speaking of Mom's Pies in the same breath.

The two are the ultimate mountain experience when you go for a visit. Mom's Pie Shop has been a staple in the small town since 1984 when Anita Nichols (aka Mom) first opened her delicious doors. What was once a cozy spot for enjoying her pies has now expanded into a slightly larger bakery filled with cookies, sticky buns, cinnamon rolls, and other sweet homemade treats as well. You can't miss this sight when you stroll through the old mountain town, it will be the only place with a line out the door and around the corner, and yes, it is worth the wait. Made with already famous Julian apples, Mom's Pie shop offers an impressive variety of pie flavors and crust options. A personal favorite is cinnamon apple pie with a crumb topping and a side of vanilla ice cream - classic.

There is no parking lot for this Pie Shop. There is free street parking available throughout town or a paid parking lot on 4th St and B Street. It is recommended to arrive early as this family-friendly spot becomes very busy!

This makes for a perfect post-hike stop when you've explored one of the many trails located near Julian or neighboring Mount Laguna, Cuyamaca or Descanso. Check out nearby hikes like Foster Point, Vulcan Mountain, Santa Ysabel Preserve West Entrance, Santa Ysabel Preserve West Entrance or Garnet Peak to name a few.
