A New Neighborhood Gem in the heart of Ballston.

Mosaic Park is a neighborhood park that is filled with exciting features, including a climbing wall (the first in Arlington!), rain garden, flexible-use lawn area, multipurpose court, and a children’s play area. The play area is made up of permeable synthetic turf and is entirely ADA-compliant and features accessible play equipment. Full of activities and play structures for all ages, Mosaic Park is fun for the whole family. Check out the Koman play equipment - it’s interactive and allows kids to hone their coordination skills, balance skills, and strategic thinking. It’s challenging and fun for all (note: requires a smartphone + QR scan, and is the first time this technology is being used in an Arlington park).

Natural landscaping includes newly planted trees and an array of attractive pollinator plants. The rain garden (Mosaic Park’s entryway) and the interactive water feature (to be finished soon) are both illuminated with sustainable LED lighting. Grab your friends and play a game of Bocce Ball or frisbee. Don't forget your sunscreen in the warmer months, there's no shade to speak of (well, not until the trees grow).

Located in Ballston, Mosaic Park is a true reflection of Arlington’s community. Walk to Compass Coffee for a morning pick-me-up or stop by Ballston Quarter Market for lunch from over 15 different eateries including Ted's Bulletin and Ice Cream Jubilee. Also, Cava is across the street. If a picnic is more you’re thing, there are plenty of areas to sit and enjoy lunch. Play at The Nook while you're there or walk over to have a picnic at Quincy Park Playground and drop by the Children's section at Arlington Central Library, both about half a mile away.

Insider Tip: No public restrooms, but plenty of establishments nearby. Street parking only, and limited.

Melody Parry Jones
Melody moved around most of her life (military family) and graduated from the University of Central Florida where she was a college athlete. Even though the beach will always feel like home, she now lives in Arlington, VA with her husband, Brent, and the #fourlittlejonesies. After stints as a flight attendant, government consultant, and sales representative for a major running brand, Melody spends her days exploring and adventuring with the kids. Whether it’s a hike, playground, bike ride/run to a playground, or nature walk, Melody and the kids are always out of the house by 9:30am (otherwise, it’s chaos). Melody is a Washington D.C. ambassador, and loves the opportunity to explore even more in the city she calls home.
