Buy fresh produce and grab a bite to eat!
The Nashville Farmers' Market is a unique Nashville experience. It was founded in the early 1800s and is still a thriving market and dining experience. The year-round market is home to over 150 local farmers, vendors, and craftsmen who sell their products in the open-air shed and host a variety of seasonal products, such as pumpkins and holiday trees. We have bought everything from vegetables, fruit, meat, and cheeses, to mini donuts, candles, and pumpkins here. During peak growing season, the Farm Sheds are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vendors can vary each day and check the farmer’s market website to confirm hours.
After browsing the market sheds, be sure to grab a bite to eat in the Market House. It is home to 20 local eateries, featuring foods such as wood-fire pizza to Indian cuisine to cupcakes and ice cream. My personal favorites are Bella Nashville (pizza), Jeni’s Ice Cream, Jamaca Way (a great vegetarian option), and El Burrito. There is something for everyone. There is indoor seating in the main dining hall or there are a few picnic tables outside. We enjoy taking our food to-go and having a picnic at Bicentennial Park, just across the street. The market hours are Su-Th 8–6 and F–S 8-8.
