Stop in at the hip Northside Social for a coffee and pastry before you head out on your next adventure with your kids. Choose from delicious breakfast sandwiches, muffins, scones, croissants, cupcakes or pop tarts to go along with your latte.  For lunch, Northside Social has sandwiches, salads, quiches, and soups, as well as some heartier evening fare.  In addition to cafe-type items, Northside Social also has a wine bar so grab a glass or a bottle and relax inside or outside. You can even rent out the wine bar for a private event.

Sit outside if you can score a table! On a pleasant day, this place is always packed and buzzing with activity. It is family-friendly and dog-friendly too! They even have delicious hot chocolate for the kids, so it's a great stop before or after a hike on an especially damp or chill day!

Northside Social is available for catering as well as private dining. The cafe welcomes online and mobile ordering in an effort to limit occupancy during Covid, and you can schedule a same-day pickup that is quick and contactless.  I've always wished grabbing a coffee at non-chain type coffee shops could be faster and easier, so I'm really hoping this practical convenience will continue following the Covid era!

After a delicious snack or meal, if you're looking for a nice easy hike to do with the kids, drive to Roosevelt Island. The hiking is beautiful and you're sure to see some wildlife. There are also multiple happyly ambassador endorsed playgrounds in the area, including Mosaic, Quincy, Hayes and Rocky Run Park.
