Old Beach Park is a quaint beach park about a block away from Virginia Beach Middle School.

Located between 25th and 26th street, parking is limited, but there are sidewalks making it an easy walk or stroller ride if you need to park a little ways away. The park has four big kid swings, two baby swings, and an interesting stand-alone climbing structure. There are a  few different slides, a small rock wall, monkey bars, and a creative play-inspiring wall with window cutouts and a little shelf mimicking a house. Old Beach Park also has a super fun teeter-totter which you don't see very often anymore, and an English to Spanish play wall!

The wood-chipped playground flooring makes for a relatively soft landing and is also perfect for digging and collecting handfuls of treasures. There is some open green space to play in and a few pretty pine trees. Four benches are placed around the playground's perimeter, along with a covered picnic table. There is a fenced-in tennis court right next to the park; however, it is not open to the public during school hours. Just be aware that there is very little shade and no restrooms available at this park.

Virginia Beach's Creative ViBe District is only about ten blocks away, so you can grab a coffee from Three Ships or Java Surf and then head over to the park for a morning adventure. If you have worked up an appetite, Commune has delicious breakfast and lunch options.

Or maybe you are in need of a cool, sweet treat after a hot day of playing in the sun —Lolly's Creamery has you covered. With its prime location, just a few streets from the oceanfront, your choices to turn a playground trip into a bigger adventure are endless!
