Eat at the historic Old Ebbitt Grill and admire the years of memorabilia and decor among the restaurant.

Though the restaurant has moved to different locations, in title it was first opened in 1856 as a boarding house. It has quite a storied history, and was taken over by the owners of Clyde's in 1970. The restaurant is large, with a lot of different seating options and can boast a priceless collection of antiques and memorabilia amassed over the years in the decor.

Old Ebbitt is family friendly and a great spot for private events. The menu is both accessible for all ages. There is an Oyster Happy Hour seven days a week from 3-6pm and 11pm-1am (2am on Fridays and Saturdays). This deal is a great opportunity to make it exciting and affordable to expose your kids to oysters that in our experience proved more successful than we expected!

The Orange Line stops at McPherson Square just a few minutes away. Not only is the White House just across the street, but the National Childrens Museum is just ten minutes walk away. It's one of our favorite museums and play areas in the city and is always worth a stop.
