A short, well-paved trail with a waterfall near Big Sky.
If you are in Big Sky, Ousel Falls is a short but very rewarding, family-friendly hike near town. It is well marked, graveled, park-like, and has plenty of stopping points with great picnic tables along the way until you reach the highlight of Ousel Falls at the end of the trail. It's only 1.6 miles round trip, has minimal climbing stairs, and is perfect for beginners or the youngest of hikers. You will pass trail runners. Even if you don't make it to the end at the falls (which is very easy so you should get there!), there are plenty of places to enjoy the river along the way. It can get crowded since it is easy and close to town.
There are nice bathrooms at the start of the trail.
Note: Dogs are welcome.
