Paper Moon Diner is a landmark in Baltimore that is sure to delight both kids and adults!

Paper Moon Diner is truly a sight to be seen. You can’t quite grasp the magnitude of the interior design until you’ve been inside. From Pez dispensers to posed mannequins, Paper Moon is the most brightly colored restaurant you’ll ever dine in.

Beyond the spectacular decor, the food is delicious. They offer a vegetarian and carnivore-friendly menu plus all-day breakfast. With a wide variety of options, you’re sure to find something for everyone. While there is no dedicated kids menu, the “munchies” menu includes classics like mac and cheese, mozzarella sticks, and chicken tenders that will satisfy the littlest and pickiest of diners.

Paper moon is really fun, but also very small. The dining room can be crowded when they are busy (and they usually are busy!). Strollers aren’t allowed and they ask that patrons do not touch the decorations. For these reasons, this is a restaurant that is best for older kids that are able to sit for the length of a meal and exercise the self-control to not get up-close and personal with the decor. If you're approaching Paper Moon on 29th street, you can find a small fenced in parking lot just past the restaurant. Otherwise, the neighborhood does have free and paid street parking.

If you’ve got younger kids in tow or if Paper Moon is too busy for your tastes, check out R. House, which is only a block away and better for kids that might be too antsy to wait at Paper Moon or keep their hands to themselves!

Our work in Baltimore is truly a family affair. Husband and wife, Matt and Katie, work together to head up our ambassador team in Charm City. Katie is a Maryland native and has lived in the state her whole life. She moved to Baltimore in 2007 after graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She has been working in the field of early childhood education as a teacher and family coach for the past 12 years. Katie also holds a Masters of Education in Literacy from Loyola University. She is passionate about giving kids and families the knowledge and tools that they need to thrive. Matt grew up in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore. As a city native, Matt is a great resource on all that the city has to offer. After months of helping Katie explore the city for her role at a Happy Active Family, he decided to put his love of writing to use and officially come on board as an ambassador. Matt and Katie have two girls, ages 5 and 7. They spend their weekends camping, hiking, or exploring other hidden gems in their area. Tap into their insider knowledge by downloading the app today!
