Visit this laid-back Mexican taco shop while walking through the historic Hyde Park - the whole family will thank you!

Parrilla Grill is a Mexican fusion restaurant that has a very casual, almost beach-side vibe to it. You walk in and immediately turn right to start ordering your food. We were lucky to come on a Tuesday because every Tuesday and Thursday they have $1 tacos all day. We ordered all four choices (chicken, beef, pork and veggie) so we could try them all. Our favorite was the chicken and the best thing about Parrilla is their homemade salsas. They have about ten to choose from but we loved the two green salsas and the honey-chipotle. The kids ordered quesadillas that come with chips and they shared - it was enough for two. You seat yourself and if mom and dad are feeling like a nice cold adult beverage they have an open bar to choose from. So yummy and a perfect casual Mexican spot that the whole family will enjoy. They have breakfast burritos that are served in the morning and happy hour specials that are available every day that ends with Y from 3 pm-6 pm. 

Next door to Parrilla's Grill is one of the cutest old fashion toy shops we have ever been to. G. Willikers Toy Merchant has so many choices for toys and some will bring you back to your children's age. A fun shop for all ages and a great spot to go for gifts.

We love to finish our day at Hype Park with the best local ice cream soda shop called Goody's Soda Fountain.
