An outdoor adventure for the whole family, don't miss a chance to explore Peace Valley Park.

Peace Valley Park is located about an hour's drive north of Philly.  Its 1500 acres serenely surround Lake Galena.  Circling the lake is a 4-mile paved path perfect for walking, running (with or without a stroller), and biking (for all ages).

Boat rentals are available seasonally. Fishing and non-motor boating are also allowed with permits, information is available on the website.

The east end of the park, near the Nature Center, boasts some beautiful hiking trails, very flat and easily negotiated by all ages. Various marked trails meander through forest, meadows, over streams, and near a river.  Children love exploring the Winnie the Pooh tree, climbing over fallen logs, splashing in puddles after a fresh rain, and listening to the sounds of the birds.  Benches are scattered throughout the trails for resting and enjoying a snack.

The Nature Center has bathrooms, a gift shop and a small play area suitable for the under six set. Located throughout the north side of the park are various picnic tables, shelters, and newly renovated playgrounds.  Our family has long enjoyed this beautiful location for picnics, birthdays, hiking, biking, and even easter egg hunts.  We live close by but even if you don't this is a destination worthy of a road trip!

Located near the park are two of my favorite local markets to pick up a picnic. Tabora Farms and Orchards are known locally for their fabulous baked goods and I feel their deli is equally as good, they even have a kids menu! Bolton's Farm Market also boasts a deli filled with their own turkey products.  They make sandwiches, soups, baked goods, and carry produce perfect for assembling a delicious picnic!
