Like all of the 85-acre Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 5 has so much for children to do! But one of the most popular areas -- warm or cold weather -- is the gated toddler playground called Picnic Peninsula Playground. This playground is located just as you enter the Pier 5 section of the park. Inside you'll find an assortment of brightly-colored, play structures, all encouraging imaginative play. There's a red car for sitting, a blue house to climb upon, and so much more. On a recent chilly January morning, I saw at least 5 toddlers running about, while their caregivers were able to watch closely from the bench located within the enclosed area.
