A special spot just an hour from Nashville.
It was fun to sit under the stars in rural Tennessee on a chilly October night (with space heaters close nearby!). Pinewood delivered a sweet ambiance with red and white checkered table cloths on picnic tables right out front of their general store and restaurant. There was a full-ish harvest moon rising over the fields which made it even more memorable.
The food is farm-to-table, Southern comfort food – and everything is organic and non-GMO. You can choose from hamburgers / impossible burgers, pork, steak, white fish and a quinoa bowl. There are even family platters to share with the kids or they can choose from their own menu too. The desserts and brunch menu looked delicious but we didn’t have a chance to try them.
It’s a bit of a haul from Nashville (an hour drive), but it’s worth it.
Pop over to the Mercantile and take home some baked goods, jarred soups, jams, etc.
