run, playground

We ventured out to Pinnacle Mountain State Park and found a playground at the base of the West Summit Trail. There are two structures with multiple slides and one climbing structure for advanced climbers. We had fun on the SwayFun which is like a glider going slow or fast depending on the user’s tempo. I wasn’t familiar with this equipment until I looked it up. The SwayFun advertises itself as being inclusive for kids and adults of all ages and it has enough room to fit 2 wheelchairs. It is also ADA compliant.

The playground is next to a large, grassy lot. We were at the playground on a week day and had it all to ourselves. The playground is next to clean restrooms and there is a family restroom with a changing table. There is a water fountain and a drink vending machine with coke products nearby and many places to sit. Our favorite part about this playground is that it is located next to the Kingfisher Trail which is a half mile, paved loop! We always end up exploring the trail and playing on the playground. Without traveling too far, this playground is an ideal starting point (or ending) to a hike or a chance to explore the natural wetlands and upland ridges just outside of Little Rock!
