Take a Dip in Turquoise Blue Springs with a Swimming Area and Nature Walk!

Ponce de Leon is a small state park just an hour inland from the action on the coastal panhandle.  Its 68-degree (year round!) water provides a cool relief in the heights of the warm months but it can get crowded.  Our most recent visit was during December and we enjoyed looking at the gorgeous water, eying fish, and taking a short hike through the woods along the clear creek.  There were very few people there in December.  Rangers also conduct seasonal guided walks.

There is tons of space for picnicking; grills and pavilions are available.  You can stop by for a quick ~1 hour trip to see the gorgeous waters on your way to the beach or make a day of it with a picnic and a dip.

Hours: 8 a.m. until sunset, 365 days a year.

Note: Ponce de Leon Springs has very high visitation on weekends and holidays. The park will close when it reaches capacity, and no vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians will be allowed to enter until space becomes available. If you leave the park for any reason, you will not be allowed to re-enter until space is available. For safety reasons, you will not be allowed to wait in line in the park when we are full nor can you park on the roads adjacent to the park. Vehicles left outside the park on the road or private property may be towed at the owner's expense.
