Zipline, Swings, and Beautiful Views of the Richmond Skyline!

This one-of-a-kind playground is a must-do! Have you ever seen or ridden a zip line that allows you to sit!?! We hadn't until we visited Powhatan Hill Park! The kids had a blast taking turns and flying around the playground on it! While the rest of the playground is nice, the zipline is a huge draw. Beforehand, make sure you talk to your children about taking turns, staying out of the way of the track when someone else is using it (we saw another child get klonked in the head!), and how to wait in line patiently.

We went with four children under seven and found that this was not a park that lends itself to parents sitting and relaxing on a nearby bench. If your children are young, you will have to help them return the zipline to the starting point each time. Further, you really have to make sure no other children are in the way of the track.

The playground has hopscotch on the blacktop, ramps (great for toddlers), big kid swings, and a seated single-person spinner. To the left of the blacktop are the beautiful views of the city. This is a great spot for a photo-op!

Street parking is only for this playground, but it is fairly easy to access. You can park in front of the community center or the pool. Bathrooms are inside the community center.

After playing here, LilyPad Cafe is a short 10-minute drive and an ideal spot to eat with young children, as they can watch boats coming and going, and you can enjoy an adult slushie!
