outdoor-adventures, hikes

Nestled behind a community garden, you would never know this hiking and biking track existed.

There are 4.5 miles of shaded trail to meander. Plenty of signage lets you know what trail you are on and which way to walk which is very helpful since bikers and hikers share the trail and they want bikers to go one way and hikers go another. What’s really fun for the kids on this trail is that the community came together to place so many painted rocks along the trail. They only ask that you freely move the rocks along the trail but don’t take them home. The Main Trail loop is only 1.5 miles and perfect for little ones to hike while looking for rocks. With it being a bike course, there are fun up and down hills and obstacles. These trails would be good for moderately experienced bikers.

The trails are maintained by the Tarheel Trailblazers. To check them out visit tarheeltrailblazers.com.

We are looking forward to painting our own rocks to contribute to this trail and others.

Tip: The trails are closed for 24-48 hours after it rains. Check status on the website before heading out.
