A Nashville playground that is popular with both big and little ones!

Red Caboose Park has it all—a tall, towering playground with huge slides, a smaller, toddler-friendly play structure, swings, a climbing structure, and much more. It is perfect for every age group from older adventurous kids to little ones who are still toddling around. Another bonus, the playground is gated so there’s a much smaller chance of kids wandering out of sight. The ground of the playground is rubber, which means less mess, no risk of little ones tasting the mulch as well as a more even walking surface.

Right outside the gated area is an old red caboose, the inspiration for the name “Red Caboose Park." You can climb onto the sides of the caboose but cannot go inside. My son loved hanging out on the caboose almost as much as he loved the playground. There is also a .2 mile paved loop that goes around the playground and green space which is perfect for strolling a baby to sleep or encouraging little ones to take a break from the playground for a couple of laps on their scooters.

The green space is also home to a small amphitheater and a restroom facility. The restrooms, however, were not open during our visit. Instead, at the time we were at the park port-a-potties were available in their place. This park is not especially large, but there is plenty to do and explore!

This is a popular park and is often busy during peak, pre-lunch hours. To avoid crowds, try going early or in the afternoon.
