Explore this hidden park and playground that is so close to so much!

This park is very near Edgehill and 8th Avenue and I’ve driven past this park a million times, but never really knew just what was there!  So we recently ventured after hitting up Baked on 8th for some cinnamon rolls (a truly delicious bakery in the neighborhood)!   We found glorious trees, acres upon acres to ourselves, and a bit of a tired but still bright and functional playground.  There are both basketball courts and tennis courts so bring your equipment, it was so quiet it seems like it would be a great place to grab some court time without any need to reserve the space. We did see sidewalks that could be used for limited scootering, but note if you wanted to walk from one side of the park to the other, you would have to walk through the grass so it's not entirely scooter-friendly.

Please be aware that when we visited, unfortunately. we did see a lot of litter so this might be a great opportunity for a community cleanup with your little ones. Explore the park and bring gloves and a garbage bag so you can help out and give your kids a lesson in environmental responsibility while you're there!  There are several older stone structures (an outdoor chimney, a covered pavilion) that had collected some trash. The playground could also use sprucing up since there was some graffiti.

I am including this park and playground here because it has so much potential and is close to so much! The trees and the rolling green spaces are worth seeing.  That said, I do feel like we need to do a community cleanup and with a little effort, this park could be a real gem.

Please note that there are no bathrooms on site.
