outdoor-adventures, hikes

If you’re staying at Hole in the Wall Campground, the Rings Loop Trail is a great option for all ages. This 1.3-mile trail with 127 feet of elevation gain is very popular among campers and climbers in the area. Accessible from the campsite, the whole family will love this unique trail.  The trail itself is rather easy most of the way, showing off various classic desert features such as rock formations, vegetation, and limestone walls.

By the time you get to the end, however, you’ll discover why they call it the “Rings” Loop Trail. Steel Rings to hold for stability line the walls, a welcome addition to this suddenly scrambling trail. It doesn't last for too long, but requires some degree of upper body strength and isn’t as easy to navigate for dogs or small children. To avoid climbing down the “rings” plan to hike the trail clockwise. When you arrive at them you can always turn around to complete your hike the way you came. Bring water, snacks, and sun protection on this trail.
