Note: This is specifically about the Zoo Lights and not the overall Zoo.

Despite attending on a holiday weekend, this wonderful family-friendly event never felt crowded.  The exhibits and lights are well spaced.  On certain nights the animals are still available for viewing in the evenings as well, although the lights are substantial enought and worth checking out.  We even spotted a snoozing pride of lions, snuggled in their habitat for the evening.

There's a small playground and concession area near the Carousel in the zoo.  It's a great place to let kids burn some energy or take a break and warm up.

Budget about 1-2 hours to walk the entire zoo and enjoy all of the lights and check the calendar for specifics to make sure Zoo Lights are offered on your desired evening.
