Riverbend Environmental Center

Nestled in the busy suburban Gladwyne area lies this beautiful  30 acre green oasis. A short distance from the parking lot is the Snider Barn which is the center of Riverbends operations.  It houses a small animal collection, a childrens library, an aquaponics greenhouse as well as restrooms. The barn is only open from Monday to Friday. Picnic tables can be found close to the barn.  There are a variety of hiking trails, not stroller friendly because of the hilly terrain but doable with toddlers. Bring that baby carrier for the infants and enjoy the greenery and the sounds of the river. Riverbend hosts a variety of events on weekends as well as a great summer camp (the kids come home covered in dirt smiling from ear to ear).
