Roy Pope Memorial Park has a fantastic castle themed playground!

Roy Pope Memorial Park is located about 10 minutes north of downtown Asheville right off of the interstate. This large playground has it all!  Two separate large castle themed play sets, swings for every age and ability, a sandbox, a rope climbing tower, and a shaded picnic area. There is also a large field behind it that would be perfect to kick a soccer ball around, fly a kite, or have a proper picnic!

Every time we go to Roy Pope I have to practically drag the tiny humans away after hours of playing, a problem I don’t mind having! There is so much to do their imagination runs wild, and I love seeing what games they will come up with whenever we go!

There are two places to park to access the park. You can either park in the parking lot for Town Hall, the park is located right behind it. Or turn onto Jonestown Rd (which will run right beside the playground) and park right by the back gate. Both are convenient and always have parking. Although there are bathrooms located at the playground itself they are rarely unlocked, but during business hours and bathroom emergencies it’s a quick walk up to town hall to use their restrooms.
